This is a quick post. A small victory that I'm quite pleased about. The speedo gear was stuck on the Dana 18's output shaft. I thought it might have been crusted on from rust, so I soaked it in CLR for a while. Then I ordered a gear puller (my new favorite tool).
It slid up and off rather easily, which was nice. I will admit to being a bit concerned that it just wasn't going to work.
The speedo gear on the left is a keeper. The bearing on the right will be used when I install the new one before Christmas.
